Elise Richer is the owner and founder of Tin Pan Bakery.
A long, long time ago, she lived in Washington, DC, where she worked as a policy analyst for a think tank. But instead of scatterplots and line graphs she had cookies on the brain. She decided to make a career switch and began baking at a start-up cake shop in DC’s U Street corridor.
With her whisk and apron, she moved to Portland in 2003. After a few years at a local bakery cafe, it was time to venture into business on her own. She launched Cream & Sugar from her home, baking celebration cakes to order, selling items at the Portland Farmer’s Market, and to local coffee shops.
Elise is excited to realize a life-long dream of opening a storefront bakery.
